The BCAT® Approach
Backed by science, easy to use, impactful results
The BCAT® Approach will provide your home care organization with a standardized comprehensive care delivery model to identify persons living with cognitive impairment, and to comprehensively assess and treat these patients to maximize their functional independence.
Assessment Tools for Professionals
In the home, there's no hallway monitoring or nursing station to catch a missed cue which means cognition has to be measured deliberately. The BCAT® suite of tools is predictive of both ADL and IADL functioning, giving home care clinicians an objective, portable way to identify not just how a client is thinking, but what they can safely manage on their own. Tools like the Mansbach Hazard Index (MHI) and the Digital Executive Function Test (DEFT™) add targeted risk and executive-function data for the IADLs that matter most in the home including medication management, transportation, and financial management. These issues can be addressed before a crisis forces the issue.
Intervention Tools and Clinical Programs for Providers
Assessment findings translate directly into a plan of care built around what a client can safely do on their own and where support is needed. The BCAT® Cognitive Exercise Suite gives clinicians a library of evidence-based exercises spanning memory, attention, executive function, visuospatial reasoning, and language that target the specific cognitive skills underlying ADL and IADL performance. Because the exercises scale across difficulty levels, they're beneficial for clients at any cognitive level, supporting engagement whether a client is working to maintain independence or manage more significant decline.
BCAT® Advantages and ROI
For home care agencies, BCAT® supports aging in place with confidence: fewer avoidable hospitalizations, stronger documentation to support referrals and reimbursement, and a proven, standardized model that differentiates your agency with referral partners and families alike.
Achieve Better, Faster Outcomes
The BCAT® Approach is used by Home Care providers and caregivers to identify where in the cognitive continuum a resident is functioning in order to recommend meaningful engagement activities and cognitive exercises. The comprehensive BCAT® Dementia Program is the perfect solution for cognitively challenged residents in the home environment.
